The Chicago Bar Association and the CBF celebrated the 8th Annual Pro Bono Week October 22-28, 2012. The American Bar Association's National Pro Bono Celebration once again took place in communities across the country.
The largest event of the week was the 19th Annual CBA Young Lawyers Section's Pro Bono and Community Service Fair, where attendees met with representatives from over 50 legal aid, pro bono and community service organizations to find volunteer opportunities throughout Chicago.
The unique interactive program, Walk a Month in My Shoes, returned with great acclaim after a successful pilot year in 2011. Tiela Chalmers facilitated the program, which is designed to help the legal community better understand the hardships faced by their low-income clients.
We will celebrate Pro Bono Week once again October 21-26, 2013.
