The Chicago Bar Foundation (CBF) recently released an updated and expanded version of its popular resource, Pro Bono: Volunteer Opportunities for Attorneys in the Chicago Area. The Guide contains information about
- the wide range of pro bono opportunities available through CBF-funded legal aid and pro bono organizations, with new sections on skills acquired, training opportunities and approximate time commitment for each pro bono opportunity offered.
- information about the Illinois Supreme Court mandatory pro bono reporting rule
- ideas for additional ways to support legal aid organizations.
The Guide is available on the CBF website here or by contacting Dina Merrell at
dmerrell@chicagobar.org or 312/554-1206. Bulk copies are available for law firms or corporate legal departments who wish to distribute copies to all of their attorneys.
To complement the Guide, the CBF also offers the
Pro Bono Support Program, which assists CBA members in identifying a pro bono opportunity matching their interests and schedules. For information, please contact Dina Merrell at
