The CBF Life Fellows Program is our oldest and largest individual donor program. Life Fellows have joined the CBF in the fight to ensure that everyone in the Chicago metropolitan area, particularly the low-income and disadvantaged people who are in most critical need of the protections of the justice system, has access to necessary legal assistance.
Making a Difference
The Life Fellows Program is a great opportunity for attorneys and others who are committed to the long-term sustainability of the CBF's mission. While the CBF Investing in Justice Campaign is the primary source of the CBF's direct financial support to the frontline legal aid organizations and dedicated attorneys serving people in need, contributions and pledges from CBF Life Fellows give the CBF the ability to address emerging needs and to invest in strategic initiatives that contribute to the long-term strength of our community's legal aid delivery system. Here are several examples of how CBF Life Fellows members are making it possible for more low-income and disadvantaged people to get the legal help they deserve.
Becoming a Member
Members of the CBF Life Fellows Program make a personal commitment to ensuring that the ideal of equal justice for all becomes a reality in our community by contributing at one of three levels below or by making a multi-year pledge (up to 5 years) for such a contribution:

$1,000 annually $5,000 pledge over 5 years |
| Gold: | $500 annually $2,500 pledge over 5 years |
| Silver: | $300 annually $1,500 pledge over 5 years |
Life Fellows pledges may be made in honor or memory of someone whose own legacy you would like to recognize.
As a CBF Life Fellow member, your name will be added to a plaque on permanent display at the Chicago Bar Association. Active and sustaining* Life Fellows will also be acknowledged at several other times throughout the year. Additionally, CBF Life Fellow members are invited to attend periodic special receptions. (*Sustaining members make annual contributions at or above the gift level from their original, completed pledge.)
