Since 1999, the CBF has sponsored two-year fellowships through Equal Justice Works. The CBF grant funds ($45,000 per year for each of the two years) allow the CBF to leverage matching funds from Equal Justice Works to fully fund these fellowships. The combined funding pays for the salary of the fellow (a new attorney working at a CBF-funded legal aid organization) for two years, provides them with loan repayment assistance for the two years (a CBF priority), and links them into a growing national network of Equal Justice Works Fellows working on other legal aid and public interest law projects throughout the country.
