David Gee has been the Director of Development for The Chicago Bar Foundation (CBF) since December 2005. David oversees all aspects of the CBF's resource development strategy. He is responsible for increasing revenue streams that support the CBF's mission while fostering and strengthening donor relationships and helping to expand the legal community's awareness of, and commitment to, access to justice.
During his tenure, the CBF created their annual Investing in Justice Campaign--raising over $6.75 million in six years. They have also increased their individual donor base more than five-fold and have significantly grown their donor pledge programs--providing opportunities for people to make higher level and longer term commitments to the cause.
Prior to joining the CBF, David enjoyed 18 successful years as a professional actor in Chicago after receiving his BFA from Illinois Wesleyan University. A member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), David is currently a Trustee of the National Conference of Bar Foundations; he serves on the Donors Forum's Resource Development Committee and participates in their Public Foundation Fundraisers Network; he is Chair of the Local School Council at Beaubien Elementary; and is a founder and immediate past Chair of Ravenswood Community Services--a hunger relief agency serving Chicago's north side neighborhoods.
David, his wife Lori and their two sons live on the NW side of Chicago.
