The Chicago Bar Foundation works to ensure equal access to justice for all Chicagoans.
As the charitable arm of The Chicago Bar Association, our mission is a reflection of the CBA’s belief that the huge gap in access to our justice system today is a call to action for the legal community.
The CBF addresses this gap by:
- Awarding more than $1 million in grants each year to Chicago area legal aid and public interest law organizations;
- Facilitating groundbreaking partnerships that address the common needs and collective challenges facing legal aid organizations;
- Bringing together the bar, legal aid organizations, the courts and other stakeholders to develop and advocate for innovative ventures to improve access to justice; and
- Serving as a critical resource center for legal aid and access to justice issues and helping to coordinate the efforts of legal aid and public interest law organizations.
Thanks to our many dedicated supporters, we are making real strides towards fulfilling our vision of equal access to justice in the Chicago area. But there is a lot more work that needs to be done, and we need your help to get there.
